Our Beginning

In 1968 DirecTel opened its doors in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a Secretarial Service, providing telephone answering, word processing, resume writing, notary public, copies, bookkeeping, association management, and executive suites. During those years their were no computers, cell phones, or even fax machines. When it was necessary to obtain outside secretarial assistance the business world would use secretarial services.

The Next Chapter

As times changed so did DirecTel. In the mid 90's people were starting home businesses and beginning to carry cell phones. In came voicemail, and the beginning of the end of having a live person answer telephones. It was at that time DirecTel decided to research how we could do more than just take messages, but rather see if we could connect callers directly to our clients. With a lot of determination and professional assistance it came to be. Hence, the beginning of the Remote Receptionist.

Today

Our clients are still small, medium, and large traditional offices needing a receptionist, but today some of them work from home or anywhere their laptops and cell phones take them. We provide our clients with more than a remote receptionist or a intelligent assistance - we provide them with receptionist stability and a professional image. "Over the years clients have told us that they initially joined us for the affordability, they've stayed for the professionalism, and never plan on leaving for the partnership."

Our clients love the freedom of follow-me communications because it allows them to be mobile. As people have become more dependent on mobile technology to get their work done and the internet has evolved, we've developed services to help them work virtually with very "real" office support behind them. We have an incredible synergy of professionalism and technology, and will always continue to seek new solutions for our clients.
